Fall Book Discussions

Dawn Lamphere, director, Margaret Reaney Memorial Library, St. Johnsville, has announced the fall titles for Peanut Butter and Jelly book discussions.
Guest facilitator Susan Oringel, will lead the discussion on Saturday, September 10 of the novel Still Alice by Lisa Genova.
A Harvard professor, with a husband and three grown children, Alice Howland is proud of the life she has worked so hard to build. When Alice begins to grow forgetful at first she just dismisses it, but when she gets lost in her own neighborhood she realizes that something is terribly wrong. Alice finds herself in the rapid downward spiral of Alzheimer’s disease. She is only 50 years old.
A New York Times bestseller, the film version starred Julianne Moore who garnered critical acclaim and won an Academy Award for her role as Alice Howland.
The discussion will begin at 10 AM.
On October 8, the group will discuss the J R Moehringer novel Sutton followed by discussion on November 12 of Alison Pataki’s historical look at Peggy Shippen, wife of Benedict Arnold, in her novel, the Traitor’s Wife.
Anyone desiring further information or wishing to reserve a copy of the Genova book, is invited to call the Reaney Library at 518-568-7822.
